Outpatient Therapist/200 HR YTT

Heather initially embarked on her career in social work in 2006 when she worked with youth committed to the Department of Youth Services in a secure lockup treatment program, as well as in a community based program assisting committed youth to create a more positive path for their life post lockup. Heather went on to obtain her Masters of Social Work from Boston University in 2011 and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, as well as a licensed School Adjustment Counselor. Heather has provided clinical treatment to individuals of varying ages in a variety of settings which include a youth commission, a child and adolescent partial hospital program, a community mental health agency, and a school setting.

Heather spent the beginning of her post graduate career providing intensive outreach family therapy to youth and their family members who struggle with serious emotional struggles. Simultaneously, Heather worked in her agency’s mental health clinic providing individual therapy, running groups in local community schools, as well as conducting and writing adoption assessments for the agency’s adoption program. Heather currently works full time as a school adjustment counselor. She is a strengths based clinician who is passionate about empowering those she works with to fully connect, accept, and appreciate their authentic self and their story as a means for overcoming and healing from emotional stress and struggles. Heather is also 200 HR Yoga Teacher Trained.

Heather currently accepts Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Optum.
